Yes you can. Setanta is totally seperate from Sky but uses NDS encryption so a sky box and viewing card are required. Just phone Setanta on 0818 719999 and give them bank account details and the number of your viewing card. if you no longer have a card they will send you one.

Its also €18 per month and your tied into a 12 month contract so beware (You get the 7 Setanta Sports channels). NTL do it for €10 per month with no contract !

Price in the UK has dropped to £9.99 a month with no 12 month contract.......wonder if us Irish will get the same???
    regards

Does the Irish set of Setanta match the UK set?
I could get a subscription and a new card via family over there.

The UK and Northern Ireland Versions do not have the Saturday after noon matches. IE only 46 premiership matches as supposed to 78/79 in Rep of Ireland. This might explain the difference. I would hold off from signing up. I would expect a price drop as soon as the premiership is about or has started. They numbers signing up i would imagine is not as good as Setanta expected. Hence the price drop in the UK. (subscribers signed up already in UK before price drop, will still be charged Stg15 pm until their 12 contract expires.)

Wonder can that be done here in the Republic

The Republic doesn't have a Freeview equivalent. The trial happening in Dublin and Louth is just that, a trial.
