I was wondering would anyone on here know how i could pre book or buy 2 tickets for the All Ireland Hurling Final who ever is in it. I just have never been to one before and would really do anything to go.
Also im not a member of a GAA club anymore so can't even think about that and anyway i know counties when it comes to the all-ireland only get about 7,000 each and the rest goes to sponsors and all that which i think it is an absolute disgrace for people like myself that go to all the hurling matches throughout the year and can never get them for the all-ireland, during the year i usually get them through ticketmaster but they don't get any for the all-ireland, thats the only match of the year they don't!!

I would really appreciate anyone that could help me out. I know that the final is on the 2nd of september.

    Thanks

Ok start this morning, ask every person you know to remember you if they have a ticket in September when the All Ireland comes around, do it again tomorrow and keep doing it until you get one.

Work the pubs on the night before and morning of the final also.

See you on O'Connell St on the morning of 2nd Sept.
    This works most years.

    Heres what you do,

1.Ring all the provincial Councils and place your order and demand one.
2.Go to O Connell Street or Fairview (Gaffneys or Meaghers) or Drumcondra (Skylon) or Gills (North Circular),best bet is Gaffneys. They may have spare tickets or people flogging them.

3.Go to some match and bring your tent and camp and try and hide in the Nally corner.:D

    4.Absolutely nothing,if 1 and 2 are not successful,there is not much hope.

Its an absolute disgrace that the semi-final last year was one third empty. You might hope that there is a situation similar to the club finals in 2004 where demand was higher and a lot got in free but I wouldn't hold my breath.

you just have to love it, never been to an all ireland, whatever county you are from will most likely not be represented in it (if they were they you would have been there in the last 3 years) but because you go to matches during the year you think that you are entitled to one, so that you can go as a neutral and enjoy a game that is of minimium importance to you. and then you give out about sponsors getting tickets, sure all they do is put money into the teams, players and the game itself, why would they be entitled to tickets over you? sure you went to matches during the year. I just hate neutrals at big games, it ruins the atmosphere, sitting next to some prick from roscommon who wants to talk about hurling, and talk and talk, not watch the match and shut the **** up. Like.

Well being a neutral at a game is ok in my opinion.i mean I went to Kerry v Tyrone AI Final and enjoyed it immensely...I loved watching two teams I dislike beat the hell out of each other.I suppose I really wanted the cocky, obnoxious Kerry fans get their mouths shut and Tyrone to simply lose.

As long as the stadium is not full of neutrals its grand

Ah so basically you are saying it's ok to be a neutral at a game as long as it is just you! :p

Robric, if he goes to matches throughout the year then the final will be of importance to him, even if his county is not playing. Neutrals that go to matches throughout the year, and I am one of them, have a very big interest, often moreso than some of the people who are there to watch their own county, many of whom will just be sunshine fans. As to the sponsors, yes they should get tickets, but even amongst the actual individuals that will be there, there would be ones who'd know nothing about the game. It would be some other individual(s) in the company that had enough interest to commit some money to it.

As to people from Roscommon talking about Hurling, it has some strong parts in Hurling so some of them would have a big interest in the game. It is good to have people from the weaker counties there. I have to declare a special interest here, as it was through a Roscommon man who has been a longserving member of a Hurling club here in Dublin where he has lived for most of his life, that I got my interest in Gaelic games. That is my father. Through his interest in both Hurling and Football, as well as Handball, I grew up going to matches, the vast majority of which Dublin were not playing in. Through that I've developed a keen interest in GAA and whether Dublin are playing or not, I hope to yet again be in Croke Park come September, as I have been through the championship to date, and intend to be through July and August. A lot of the native fans of counties that will be there in September will be looking to go to their first match of the year in September.

Anyway, the basic point is that there are many neutrals about the place that are very well deserving of tickets for All-Ireland finals, even ahead of some of the fans of the competing counties.

Anyway just to let ye know i'm from waterford!!, and to be honest what i was saying was if waterford do get to the all-ireland would love to get a ticket.
I think maybe my best chance of getting one because im not a member of a club at the moment because not living in waterford, in dublin might be to try people i know in other counties, sure if anyone on this come september would do anything to get one off you.

Also "Robric" you were a bit aggressive in what you replied to me. All i was asking for is to see if i could get a ticket if my county got to the final.

In short Robric, an All-Ireland final is a place for a GAA fan, which is what Beats26 is. I hope Waterford and Beats26 are there on All-Ireland Final day. Unfortunately Beats26, pre-booking isn't really possible. Just keep looking out and asking about the place. Keep going to those matches too. :)

Im the same situation of beats26 too. The whole thing seems crazy on the GAA's part. If Waterford somehow actually managed to get an AI Final this year tickets in Waterford would be treated as gold dust. Can you imagine a county getting to their first AL Final in 44 years and are allocated just 7,000 tickets!?!? At least 20,000 Waterford fans and 20,000 Limerick fans will be at the Munster Final, never mind an All Ireland.

On the subject of neutrals at matches, robric take a deep breath and calm down! You hate neutrals at matches, ok your opinion. But then what type of supporters are the suits in the corporate boxes in Croker? There not partisan terrace goers thats for sure! Who would you rather have at matches, experienced hurling followers who enjoy the sport or business managers who came for the free tickets and free food?

I don't see the problem with neutrals. They purchased a ticket just like anyone else and their there to enjoy a game of hurling just like anyone else.

Fortunately Deise59, the way things work out with county boards swapping football and hurling tickets and individual fans in the counties doing so, you end up with a lot of people form the actual counties, far more than 7000, being in Croke Park on the day. Counties like Kilkenny will swap their football tickets with for the hurling tickets that counties like Donegal might get. Waterford, should they get to the Hurling final, will get plenty of tickets from counties with little interest in it, and their football tickets will be gladly handed over for hurling equivalents. So should Waterford get through, 7000 will be just a fraction of the amount of native supporters that they will have there. Keep the faith! :)

This is turning into another 'I am a real fan I deserve a ticket' thread.
Strange thing is, firstly it's only July, and secondly it does not involve Dublin.

The GAA ticket distribution for the All Ireland finals is not perfect but it is not bad as it gives a chance for GAA fans and memberes from all over the country getting a ticket.

If anyone wants a ticket for a final bad enough they should we willing to put in the work to get one.

hes not even a member of a GAA club, the GAA does have a pecking order when it comes to AI tickets, and its a good one, wouldnt a fan of the GAA be a member of his or her local club and support them there, not just the big days.

Not necessarily. I go to most of my clubs games but am not a member of it.
