    The flower is nice in the first one, but the background is slightly distracting.
    You seem to be able to get good results from that lens.

    Haha, we could probably keep a whole forum going with botanics pics...

    There's something that keeps drawing me back to that last shot - at first I thought the slice of sky was distracting but it's actually the focus of the picture - if that makes any sense? I really like it.

    i havent been able to access boards in the last three days! frustrating! anyway i think the sky in the first photo is a nice contrast to the yellow of the flower, i dont know... i like it! and the middle one is now my desktop - im happy with that one, it swhat i wanted to acheive, shallow dof... thanks for the comments guys!
