Watchmen cast?

Usually I am not a big fan of rumour-mongering, but this is the holy grail of movie adaptations, so this rumoured cast list is an intersting possibility. Of course, the list could well be complete nonsense, but theres some interesting names in there (Kate Winslet, Jude Law (?) etc...). So Watchmen fans, opinions?

Kate Winslet as Silk Spectre (excellent choice)
Patrick Wilson as Night Owl (another fine choice)
Jason Patric as Dr. Manhattan (considering this character will be mostly cgi / painted blue / monotone, this choice has a big of room for leeway, but not a bad possibility)
Jude Law as Ozymandias (ooh... controversial!)
Thomas Jane as The Comedian
Jeremy Irons as Moloch (thumbs up for this)
Virginia Madsen as Sally Jupiter (em.. too young?)
Jonah Hill as Seymour
Henry Gibson as Mr. Figure
William Fichtner as Detective Fine
Noah Emmerich as Captain Metropolis
Gretchen Mol as Janey Slater (have only seen her in one or two things and not a big fan, but this is a tiny role)

The IMDB currently has Keanu Reeves rumoured for the role of Doc Manhatten and Gerard Butler as Rorschach. While Butler might look the part when made up, I cringe at the thought of Reeves...

Thomas Jane as the Comadian.......apart from fears hes too young, he would be perfect!

So he will be able to play his usual expressionless self, thats nice. The problem is that he doesn't come across as someone you could take seriously playing a scientist any more than Tara Reid does.

This fellow seems to be a favourite for Rorschach at the moment.. Not a bad choice IMO.

Jude Law is a spot-on choice for Ozymandias - even when I was reading 'The Watchmen', I was picturing him in the role.

Think Rorschach is going to be the difficult one to cast right.

I'm acutually fairly confident that Snyder will get the best cast possible for Watchmen and not just cast names.

I think that Jackie Earle Haley as Rorschach is a great choice. He was excellent in Little Children and All the King's Men.

Thomas Jane as The Comedian is another great choice, not just a great actor but one of the few actors I can think of who genuinely seems to respect the original incarnations of comic book characters. He did after all leave the Punisher because he felt they werent treating the character with enough respect.

Jude Law has the kind of creepy perfection, good for Veeidt

Yeah, not a bad choice. Personally, I was pretty excited when Paddy Considine was considered for Rorschach. But that fell apart when Paul Greengrass left the project.

Considine would be terrific in the role. Just watch Dead Man's Shoes - the man oozes menace. But said rumour has long been dismissed, alas.
But the new choice is quite favourable as well. He was wonderfully creepy in Little Children. Especially that scene in the car....
