Any firmware, including the just released 3.50 can now be downgraded with a copy of Lumines. Welcome to homebrew everyone!

nope, nothing wrong at all with downgrading your psp. It's your property, you can do whatever you want with it as long as you don't violate copyright laws.

Its crazy that someone has found this exploit, but this is just funny :

Whats the advantage of having homebrew firmware? Just got my PSP a few weeks ago so would like to know what im missing out on.

Chortle. Read about all the fuss about Lumines and then happened to see it secondhand in GAME for €15. Couldn't leave it behind... Apparently it is starting to command some higher prices on eBay.

I had a downgraded PSP but it got robbed ( thats Karma for you ) I could never figure out the homebrew stuff was there ever anything any good on it on was it just old ass Snes games and the likes .

Think i might get a new PSP now with this news im not decided between PSP or DS

It's easy enough if you're anyway used to computers, i'd say if you follow the instructions to the letter you'll be grand.

well, i managed to downgrade mine no problem at all. i have 3.40 oe running on it now, and have already got a few hundred roms to play
my psp.... has just been pimped

Sony shouldn't be really so bothered by homebrew. PSP games sales are going up because of it. First GTA now Lumines.

You can only download version 3.51 from Sony's website. I think they patched 3.5 to stop people downgrading or something. If you could find someone who still has the update file on their memory stick you could get it.

should it be like Eboot.PBP and if so whats the next step

yes it should be, put it in the psp/game/update/ folder on your memory stick, then turn on your psp and go to game and you will see 3.50 update.

custom firmware psp's will be worth gold when the psp2 and undowngradable version1's come on the market.
