I haven't posted shots in ages so thought I may as well. Mostly just showing some more takes on the planes themselves. I was going to post to the Salthill thread but its getting long now and don't wanna have loads and loads of images in the one thread so here goes... It ain't up to Mike's Eurofighter but here are a few I took on the (wet) day. More on Flickr

Ignore the border, I just auto-add that for Flickr.

The second one is fantastic, great work Katie.

The second one is really good. Those planes look like they are on top of one another they're so close. The last one is good as well.

Nicely done, another +1 for the second shot. Great set of pictures.

I agree totally, great cropping too hey Kate!! ;)

would it not benefit from some decreased highlights? Either that or a half a stop under exposure. 3,4 and 5 look too saturated. Well, 5 you'd get away with but 3 and 4...

Most likely would. The light was so changeable that day, grey to bright blue in a few minutes. I pretty much just cleaned off some dust and did a bit of cropping on these, other than that they are as they were shot. Messing with shadows/highlights ain't my forte! When my PS expert returns from holiday I'll take a tutorial and do a bit of a job.

    I think they're brilliant!
Whatever about the exposure and the saturation, you did really well to capture the action.
    Excellent stuff!

Great shots! Second one and the RAF coming down with a swirly smoke trail in your flickr set - stunning photos!!

I think they came out very well - I like the first 2 and last 2 most. Pretty cool how the propellors in #5 seem to be aligned like that.

Thanks all! I was happy with them considering these were the only shots I could lower my umbrella for! That and the fact that I was standing on a rock, with my lens pointing to the sky, trying to follow those babies... I fell off twice! It was a small rock and I had to turn around really quickly hehe! Bruised :( But worth it lol

Anyone got any photos? Cash waiting

Actually I used the word 'fall' for dramatic effect to add some entertainment value. It was more like a stumble, but I bruise easily hehe! Enough ;) hehe

Don't go all Natasha Bedingfield on us now.
Anyway, despite the forces acting against your Equilibrioception, you still managed to get some shots, which, in my opinion, are brilliant!

Really excellent Katie. I agree that a little burning would improve them good and all as they are.

    Any tips?

Fairly simple and many ways to skin a cat.

Were they taken as Raw? If so it simplifies the process. Just bring down the exposure so that the detail on the planes is just right, import into PS and dodge, with a big brush to bring back the main pic leaving the planes with texture and depth. You could, alternatively do the opposite, darken by burning around the planes if you wanted and this would draw the focus even more on the subject.

You could also burn at say 10% on the planes on the jpeg, if that's all you have, and, provided the highlights arent burnt out, bring back the detail.

    Great shots though! ;)

PS: I'm thinking specifically of the second one BTW when talking about the adjustments.

Thanks for the tips Danny, appreciate it. I can do most things to meet my needs in PS but shadows and highlights I always seem to mess up. Ill follow your tips at the weekend and see how I get on. THANK YOU :)
