Venue: Walton's Music Rooms, George's St, Dublin.
As part of this summers Big Bang drumming/percussion festival, Ireland's leading beatboxer White Noise is running a once off workshop on the art of human beatboxing. The 90 minute session will cover the basics of beatboxing as well as covering all aspects of the art; from vocal drums to vocal scratching, before moving on to explain the more advanced beatboxing techniques. The workshop is an all ages event and welcomes everyone, musician or not.
This workshop will cover such areas as:
- history of beatboxing in hiphop
- mic techniques
- tutorial/explaining the basic sounds
- audio/visual media from some of the best beatboxers in the world.
- beatbox showcases from White Noise and Hemlock.
- using digital effects / live looping in beatbox.
- Q & A
NB - The workshop is limited to 20 people and places are given on a first come, first served basis. To sign up and guarantee a place email workshop@whitenoise.ie ASAP.
White Noise has been a performing beatboxer for 6 years and has run children's beatbox classes and wokrshops for Dublin City Council as well as beatbox workshops for singers. This workshop is a rare chance to get an insight on beatboxing from Ireland's best source.
