Bebo evaluation

Now, I know this isn't a strictly songwriting topic, but since this involves my solo singer/songwriter effort I thought this a better place then the madness of bands&musicians.

Anyhows... does anybody know the criteria of bebo's band evalution?

I only noticed it a month or so ago, but on your bebo band page there is a small link saying "feature band", which supposedly submits your band to be reviewed with the possibility of going on the public search page.
So I submitted myself for review and I just clicked it tonight and found out I was denied.

Now... it states that they aren't going to discuss it etc, and they don't offer any explanation, so I was just wondering if anyone had any more info on what sort of criteria they use?

I have music on the page, it's all my own work, no copyright infringement, and I can safely say with modesty intact that I wouldn't be the worst artist featured in their singer/songwriter section.

It's just annoying me cause it's a great aul promotional tool for the Irish market and I've no idea why I've been blacklisted etc, and for every possible reason I can think of I can find a page to break that theory.

I saw that thing myself and instantly jumped to the conclusion that it was to do with the look off your band page i.e. you'd have to have designed the wallpaper yourself instead of using the standard wallpapers. Basically, I thought it was more to do with the look and written contact as opposed to the quality of the music. I doubt somebody in 'Bebo' actually sits down and listens to each song?

Does it allow you to try again?

    Interesting one this...

It doesn't allow you to try again, it warns you of this before you submit it, but I was pretty confident since I'd seen some shockingly bad pages get on the bands section... I'm talking txt speak and horribly recorded crap, so I went for it and oh no. :P

I kinda can't imagine an employee going through all the songs, but then the "feature" option is quite small and I doubt many people even notice it. It's a thinker.

surely it's all about the neatest package/most marketable groups around? bebo is mostly made up of young teenage girls, in case you didn't know. :P

    it's 2007 - music is a product. i'd say get off bebo. :D

Nah, I've seen some absolutely terrible bands being featured that you couldn't market to anyone.

Might be full of teenage girls mate, but it's also filled with the majority of 3rd level students in the country... plus everybody who listens is better then nobody. Leaving bebo would be like barring red-heads from gigs or something
