3rd in 4x100 relay, excellent result. Derval got off to a flyer! Doubts over GBR handover so might be 2nd yet.

    Gillick and Cuddihy both 2nd.

The men have done well. The women have O'Rourke, McGettigan and Britton to come. Both teams might just hang on.

A great start to day 2: Eileen O'Keeffe wins the Hammer with a national record 69.44m.

    She threw 69.44m twice!

Fair play to her....that's one hell of a win we needed. 8 valuable points.

    Hmm...McCarthy 6th in 800m. Pity Chamney wasn't picked.

    Kelly Reid 7th in 1500m.

Derval an excellent 2nd in 13 sec flat. 7 more points!

It's going to be a scrap between our men and switzerland not to get relegated
and us norway and holland in the women's.

    Edit:

Now looking ominous for men. They'd have to win the relay with switz last to stay up.

Mcgettigan put in a stormer to get 2nd. That with britton's 4th in the 5k may just see us stau ahead of Norway. Relay will tell all!

Women hang on by the skin of their teeth.

Great first two legs by Cuddihy and Carey.

    Men relegated.

Pity about the men. Hopefully we'll bounce back up though.

Great for the women, some stellar performances throughout the weekend from them. O' Rourke, McGettigan, O' Keefe, Britton etc pulled out great performances.

Pity Gillick didn't run in the relay...must have picked up an injury.

Brilliant performances by Hession this weekend!

20.61 in 200m yesterday into a -1.0 wind, that 200m record is on serious borrowed time now. Great to see the Irish record down to sub 10.2. When I first started doing athletics about 15 years ago the 100m record was 10.6...

    Great performance by the women.

I think Hession winning the 200m is probably an even better achievement than the 100m record as the oppents are a very decent standard

Hession gets the bragging rights over Gillick for beating Wissman!
