Does anyone remember that board game that you could rent out from extra vision, it had a video cassette with it that you played along with the board game, it was really tense and really scary!

You had to do what the guy in the video said, or whoevers go it was had to take his "dare" so to speak. I remember for one of the dares one of us had to put our face right up to the tv screen, then the scary fella screamed, making you absolitely crap your pants.

    Remember the name of it?

That was Atmosphere, never got around to getting it myself but it looked like good fun at the time. Think they do a DVD version of it nowadays, check the old Argos catalogue for it.

Didn't sleep until we turned 12.

I got Atmosfear for Christmas one year. It got old pretty quick.

There was also Skull & Crossbones where you had to guide a pirate ship around the board, listening to the instructions of some drunken pirate on screen.

I got a Star Wars board game years ago that came with a video. Needless to say it was crap.

    Atmosfear was incredible!
There were extra videos for it aswell, my neighbour used to buy them all and after a dinner or something we'd all go into the sitting room with the lights off and play it. Me (the oldest child) and all the adults, I used to be so scared by the Gatekeeper.

    Ah, memories!

I had that too. Played it twice and neither time I played it did the game and video sync up. I still have the video, not sure about the board game tho, it might be in the attic somewhere

I had the video version years ago... and I had a Star Trek one too where a Klingon takes over the bridge of the Enterprise and shouts at you from the TV set.

I have the DVD version of Atmosfear at the moment and it certainly has a bit more longevity going for it as it takes different routes through the DVD chapters so it's not the same thing each time... Impossible to play with the full 6 players though as everyone gets in the way of each other and you can't hear what the TV is telling you to do. There's a another version of the DVD on out now with the Mummy running the show.

Wow, we have the original and then two add on ones. Basically with the add ons you got the tape and some new bits and pieces but played on the original board. One tape was a zombie who decayed over the hour and the other was a witch who got more grotesque.

That was the best part, watching them change throughout the hour.

Haha! Sounds familiar alright. Well, I had been warned about it, so when I played it i made sure that it was daylight and I had plenty of coca cola in me, so I was all caffeinated and hyper. It would'a scared the bejesus outa me otherwise :o
