got hit in work with a brand spankin new strain of the Sillyd virus. Had to upload the infected file to symantec so they could write a new .xdb definition file.
Only problem is we werent told how to remove it off the machines its on now!

Any body got some tips on what keys it hides it's ugly mug in?

see this thread about autoruns, it might help you locate the startup point, disable it, restart, then wait for symantec to patch their virus scanner..

    Cheers for the thread link.
Took some effort to get that software to run on an enffected machine as you couldn't run a .exe file but using the symantec unhook script i was able to get the reg key's and folders and using a little brute force remove the virus and get the rapid release update from symantec on to the machine.

Working on a removal tool at the moe so i can clean machines cause symantec are not going to make a tool.
