I originally had a standard sky box and had the second RF outlet connected to a second TV in another room with the little mouse and both remote controls worked great. I had no problem powering up the second RF outlet then but since I got the Sky+ box I cant power up the second RF outlet THE OLD WAY option 4 press 0 then 1 quickly allowed you to power up the second RF outlet but not on the new sky+ box. Any help would be very much appreciated. I only got the new box to-day so it will be to-morrow before the Record funtion will be activated.

Access to the Installer Menu hasn't changed, it's the same on any Sky-branded box.

It's still Services, 4, 0, 1, Select. RF Outputs is again, still Option 4.

    On slightly the same thread....

Can the 2 RF outputs on the Sky+ box be used for 2 different channels? (Since the box has two tuners in it?) 1 for what you're watching and the other for what you're recording?

    no
There is only one MPEG decoder.
(recording does not decode the signal)

There is only one Digital to Analogue converter (DAC)

There is only one PAL encoder to turn RGB to composite

There is only one Modulator to turn PAL Composite to RF.

The aerial in signal is added to the modulator signal, this is then split to both RF sockets. The RF2 has 6Mhz approx receiver to convert the remote IR commands that was converted from IR to RF at the remote magic eye. This is then feed to the CPU that looks after all the buttons and the IR receiver on front.

The digibox uses two signals on its CPU so it can differentiate between a local and Remote IR command and even change the Letterbox/crop/leave as is picture setting, which is applied to the single digital Playback/Live signal before feeding the single DAC, hence both TV sets, whether via SCART, S-Video, Composite, RF1 or RF2 are the same.
