Cherry Kitchen advice

What’s your view on solid Cherry kitchen cabinets? Do all cherry kitchens go orangey/reddish over time (or are some stained that way to begin with)? I just came across an (otherwise solid) shaker style door with veneer centre panels (from Summerhill 'Rosso' range). It’s exactly the light cherry shade we’ve been looking for, but very worried it will get that orangey/reddy look with time and would especially hate the idea of a really dark centre panel!!
Anyone experience of veneer panels darkening at a faster rate that solid wood?

We are not too keen on light woods beech, maple or oak etc. nor the dark ones – Walnut.

Anyone any other solid wood suggestions other than cherry? Thanks…

We had the same dilemma last year. I loved the cherry but wasn't sure that cherry would last the test of time for us. In the end we went with rustic oak..it's a Springhill Woodcraft door. But you know keep looking around it often depends on the fitters the way they design and install the kitchen...we had one guy selling us the same rustic oak kitchen and he was putting veneered ends on it instead of solid ones and it made the kitchen only 400e cheaper but it looked thousands cheaper ikwim. It's a difficult decision to make and one you will have to live with for a long time so be really sure before you order anything. Shop around big time we saved thousands on the same kitchen by doing so. Many are using the same doors and just making up kitchens in a different style. We went to two brothers who were making solid doors from scratch and they make lovely doors and do solid frames as well so the cost was high and we could not afford the price difference with everything else in the build going over budget. Best of luck and keep us posted on your progress.
