Who is the all-time top scorer in the history of All-Ireland senior football championship?
    Can't find any records online.
Know Oisin Mc Conville is the top scorer in Ulster football with 10 goals and 193 points though that includes qualifiers.

I'd say it's him overall....probably not a player from Connaught or Munster due to the lack of games played.

Not sure who top is but matt connor scored 22 goals 135 points in 29 games
in 1980 alone including league championship and railway cup became the first player to break 200 pts in one season in 1978 in hurling or football. Sure if his career was not cut short he would have alot more records behind him.

Yea, though i read some where that Mikey sheedy averaged 7 points a game for Kerry, though i don't know how many games he played for Kerry in the championship.
Mc Conville's average is about 4.5 points a game

I was told recently that Matt's ppg average was far higher than any of todays top scorers. Im trying to get some detailed info to clarify.

Think there is a clip of him on www.rhodevillage.bravehost.com under the videos category.

    What a player

Stevie Mc Donnell is surprisely number 10 on the list of the all time top Ulster markmen with 14 goals and 100 points. thought he would be higher, he's just 9 ahead of Anthony Tohill which very impressive for him considering he was a midfielder

Anthony Tohill was an expert free taker, but yeh, it's still impressive.

McDonnell would be high up. I think the Tribune did a piece last year saying he was the best goalscorer in the last 10 years based on Championship matches.

Matt Connor is bound to be high up based on Championship matches alone.

Probably the best way is score per game. But then Kerry would have an unfair advantage in that they played the rest of Munster bar Cork in championship matches pre the Munster Final.

I'm wondering could it be one of the Kerry players from the 70/80's based on score per game?

Any sources on the Internet for things like this. I don't think GAA.ie or Hogan Stand provide this.
