    Hey Folks,

We need to upgrade one of our pc's cos lately its become somewhat outdated. Its primary purpose is internet use (so it's on most of the time) although my girlfriend plays some games on it as well (nothing too cpu intensive, mind - Sims 2 and the like)
We we're looking at these two upgrade options anyway on Komplett:

    1, Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 1.8GHz Socket LGA775, 2MB, BOXED w/fan
    ABIT IL9 PRO, Intel 945P, Socket-775, ATX, SATAII, DDR2, GbLAN, PCI-Ex16
    Corsair Value S. PC5300 DDR2 2048MB Kit w/two matched Value Select 1024MB
    Price E240

    2, AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ 2.4GHz Socket AM2 1MB, BOXED w/fan
    MSI K9N NEO-F, nForce 550, Socket-AM2, SATAII, DDR2, GbLAN, ATX, PCI-Ex16
    Corsair Value S. PC5300 DDR2 2048MB Kit w/two matched Value Select 1024MB
    Price E210

Any advice on which of these would be best? your help is appreciated!

    Thanks

P.S the intel dealio has 3 years warranty, the athlon only 1

I'd say the Athlon X2 is probably the better choice in this given no overclocking and it's usage.
