    When calculating pots odds, which method do you use?

    work out the % first then change to odds. Its easier when you're working out the pot.

    They're the same thing, just

    odds = (percent unsuccessful)/(percent successful) to 1

    I thought this would be using combinations or probabilities - I prefer probabilities

    I find odds way easier to work out quickly. e.g. I'm 2.5 to 1 to make my hand on the next card and the bet I have to call is offering me 3-1. Anyone who plays here I would say knows the odds of all the common situations anyway without having to work it out every time. You confront them ad nauseam
