Hey what do you guys think about this?
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/6220684.stm

The egg information service wanted to screen an old advertisment to celebrate their 50th anniversary, but it was disallowed on the grounds that it was unhealthy for people to eat eggs every day. But I've heard of boiled eggs being suggested here as a snack.

The article makes a good point in saying that cereal ads suggest eating a bowl every day, but I don't think anyone would agree that a bowl of frosties a day is good for you?

I love eggs. I eat an egg everyday. sometimes two.

But then again, my diet is nothing to go by.

Just ate 4 in a salad last night and another four for lunch with butter beans, celery, mayo, sundried tomatoes etc

The majority of people could do with completely cutting out cereals (except oats) especially if they have weight issues. After all cereals are great for getting cows fat

Yeah, and dairy farmers use them for fattening their cattle too! :D:p

OK, ok, sensitive, PC t-ha is back...

Yes that decision is astonishing, especially when compared with the cereals who advertise their products be used as breakfast, dinner & lunch!

Coincidentally John Berardi posted an article on the what he considered the 4 biggest myths in fitness/nutrition. Number one being this:
    JB wrote:
    1) The Cholesterol Myth
Eating eggs leads to high cholesterol levels

Adults are continually told that eating foods rich in cholesterol can elevate an individual's risks of atherosclerosis and heart attacks. As egg yolks are a major dietary source of cholesterol, this has made them public enemy #1. However, research studies consistently show that dietary cholesterol intake does not correlate well with blood cholesterol - in other words, eating foods rich in cholesterol does not necessarily increase blood cholesterol or cardiac risk. Because the body makes its own cholesterol, eating more means the body produces less. And eating less means the body produces more. It's only a small % of the population that doesn't regulate blood cholesterol well - and in these individuals, blood cholesterol can be high regardless of dietary intake. If blood cholesterol is a concern, the best way to deal with it is to increase exercise activity and improve the overall quality of your diet - not to eschew foods because they contain cholesterol.

I'd go through 24-28 eggs a week. Breaking it down it's usually 4 eggs per servings so I'll have 4 egg white and 2 yolks.

On an average week I go through about 30 eggs,
and having just checked, I can happily confirm that I am, in fact, still alive :)

    JayRoc,

    do you eat 30 whites/yolks?

I presume it's a good way of boosting your fats?

Weird. What is a varied diet anyways?

Whatever it is, you could do far more things with an egg than with a breakfast cereal, recipe-wise.
