For best value for money, size them up in the local shops, and then buy online..
Bikeworld has a very large selection, (I'll keep away from the topic of customer service, pricing, etc).

Heine Gericke is very good, but only available up Norf (which also mean no VAT on helmets).

I'm sure there are some good reliable shops in Dublin (are you in Dublin?) I've just bought online, or at bike shows for the past couple of years.

Get sized up locally and buy from www.thevisorshop.com which actually is a shop based just out side Newry called Crossans Motorcycles. No VAT charged on helmets in the UK so its your best bet.
If you don't want to buy online with them you can call up to see their selection. Sound lads!

How often you all replacing your lids?

If I remember what I've read before, the shock absorbing foam/material goes past it's best after about 3 years. Is that correct?

My current lid coming up 2 years now. When should I turn it into the pillion lid and get a new one?

For me, around every two/three years, depending on the number of scratches/minor drops it gets.. Also, riding all year round, the straps tend to get a bit worn.. Also, when there's a sale on somewhere!
