Looking for a hostel in Amsterdam

Hey guys,
I'm after spending an hour searching the web, and coming up with crazy quotes for two guys for three nights in Amsterdam at the start of July. Can anyone recommend a hostel they stayed in?
We're looking for a private room for two, and cheap. Everythign else is secondary. Location, cleanliness, bar, internet etc can all come second to the price.
The guy I'm going with has stayed there before, in the Globe Hostel, and he says they got a private double room, but it's not showing up on their website. Maybe it's just a badly maintained site, but I'm not sure. Can anyone recommend anything?

Try www.hostelz.com or www.hostelworld.com, they have reviews of hostels as well. Or try the even cheaper and funnier way: www.hospitalityclub.org!

I stayed in the Stayok in Vondelpark

Room was basic (as you would expect in hostel), clean, had two single beds, shower and toilet all as part of room (like a hotel room) so it was fine.
Swipe cards to get into the Hostel and the rooms, so its safe.
And speaking of Safe, they have safes on the ground floor that you can use as well, about 2e for a day.
