    hi

my wife & i got married abroad 5 yrs ago. basically you need to check out the following:

    1. do you have to be resident in the country where you intend to get married for a certain amount of time i.e. 1-week, 1-month, 6-months, 1-year. it probably varies according to country.

    2. will the marriage be recognised back here in ireland (that is if you intend to return here).

    3. religious ceremony or civil ceremony.

as it is cyprus, i seriously doubt you will have much trouble. you should check and see if there are companies which help with organising the location, venue etc. i would think some travel agents can help here as getting married abroad is fairly common now.

best of luck with it. if you do go ahead with it i hope you have a smashing time (not literally :D )
