    Hi,

Anyone know where can I rent a 400mm f/5.6 for the weekend? Also any ideas what the rent would be like?

Kea-Photo has one of these listed for about £690, and can deliver in 1-3 days, but I am a bit concerned about spending so much on a lens that I have never tried before...

    thanks a million!

buy it from kea... even if you dont like it you'll be able to sell it over here at a massive profit :D

Covey, wow, thanks a million! I might take up that offer - I haven't got the tickets for the match where I want to use this lens, so I might drop you a PM once I confirm that.

Thanks for the link Roen, I went into their site but couldn't find that page last night. Going by that table, it would cost me €150 for the weekend.

rymus, I doubt if I can sell it for profit though. Conns has is listed it for €1500 (!!!!), and Kea/eBay can deliver it to door at around €1050 euro. But its still significantly more than the US prices - its $1065 @ bhphoto. 33% dearer! :(

PS: Just found out one of these are up for sale in the other forum (PI) for €950. Now I am torn between this and the 300 F4 IS + 1.4x TC! Typical! :D

well shur... even if you sold it for 1100 it'd be a profit.

i know conns rent out lenses, and if you like it enough to buy it, will deduct the rent already paid from the price.

Thanks. Thats nice of them, but their price is way off unfortunately - 50% more in this case!

Conns will rent it. However they will charge you 20% of cost so they are useless. You may be able to bargain with them. Why don't you just buy it on your Visa and if you don't like it return it within a couple of weeks and get refunded to your Visa. BandH are the worlds cheapest but be warned it WILL get caught in customs and you will pay a 20-30% tariff. might still work out a lot cheaper than Conns
