Can anyone give me any info on acoustic bass guitars? It's a present for a pretty experienced guitar player and I have no idea what I should or more importantly not look for?

i would take them to a shop and let them choose cos its a personal bond. if not thomann it buts its not the same. you used to be able to get lovely big war horse of a yoke from EKO. they were robust and deadly. newer ones like crafter are alright but dont have the same weight in them. after that you are looking big dollars

One thing you got to remember aswell is that acoustic basses will often be quieter than acoustic guitars when playing unpluged.
