I ran an investigation in Ross Castle there on Saturday night and I thought I'd do up a thread on to let you all know what happened.

Basically I was running this trip for people in my office who had heard tale of the investigations that I go on and were interested in attending one. I did mention in the chat thread here that if anyone was interested to PM me as I might have some places left. Stoner had to pull out at the last minute, and Nitefox was interested in going, but is away this week I believe... Grimes was the only forum regular who was able to attend.

We did have one medium with us, and she was quite good and does readings professionally, and Stoner was kind enough to let me borrow some of his equipment.

There were 12 people in total present and only 3 of us were male... so it was definitely a very different dynamic to the usually male dominated investigations (dominated in numbers that is).

I was impressed that our medium picked up on the two rooms that we've previously established as being active... namely the green room and the top bedroom in the tower.

There didn't seem to be a huge amount of activity in the place over the course of the evening though... lots of orbs showed up in the photos and some cold spots.

I've never been terribly impressed by orbs in photos though... but some of the ones we got seemed to coincide with locations in the room were the medium felt something. Also one girl who was lying on the bed in the tower bedroom felt her feet getting very cold and in a photo that came out an orb is located right at her foot. Ha... there is also a photo with an orb over Grimes's crotch... but that area probably too numb from overuse for him to feel anything there by this stage.

There was some glass tipping done as well... it only seemed to start to work after myself and Grimes had left the room... So a male presence seemed to be affecting it.... But personally I think glass tipping is the same level of nonsense that you get with Ouija Boards.

I haven't gone through all the photos yet, but I'll post up anything that I think looks interesting. I also had a camera set up in the green room for an hour, so I need to review the footage of that as well.

Grimes might have some more to add at some stage... he set up a recorder to capture EVP and I know he was happy as we had more access to the books than we have had in the past... Oh.. and they made us breakfast.

Oh.. and they made us breakfast.

If any soulsearchers are reading this they won't be happy. 5 times they have been there and not one breakfast.

BTW how are the dogs, did you tell bingo I was asking for him?

Dogs? I don't remember there ever being any dogs...

    There were two horses though.

As for breakfast... I guess it pays when you bring 9 women with you.

I hope that there was a Kyte mark on the protection you all used Monkeyfudge, and that there were no holes in your aura.

Aww, I saw the post in the chat thread but didn't really think of it's signifigance. Sounds like a great trip. I'd love to hear more from some of the others who went along if they'd be interested in posting.

And interested they are, well the only other boardsie. Apparently monkeyfudge knows real people ... the bastard.

Well I shall begin with me waking up at 6pm , having to meet Monkey and his bus at 4pm. Anyway a quick phonecall to 6th and I was swiftly heading up the M50 and West to Oldcastle at breakneck speeds. I arrived in the dark at around 8pm albeit it may have been 8:03 as I forgot to calibrate my watch.

I set up my gear in the kitchen and was happy to see that we had the use of a gauss meter. Something that would come in very handy during the night. The group did a vigil in the first floor of the tower. The Gauss meter started acting up in the North - West corner of the room and then , very suddenly whatever was affecting the meter ceased. Then the entire group felt a draft coming from the other corner and we could find no obvious reason for it .

We then went upstairs to the bed on the top floor. Interestingly here a number of people felt a cold chill on the bed , one girl was very upset and I was happy that some people picked up on simular things from previous investigations.

I was standing in the red corridor in the new part of the building looking at the old 6inch map of the area on the wall. With EMF in hand it suddenly went feckin metal. I walked up and down the corridor and it was maxed out for about 3 minutes. Then all of a suddon it died and didnt activate in this area again for the rest of the night. It did however go off on the kitchen table after sitting beside me queitly for 10 minutes . This lasted for about 2 minutes then died. Anyone have an explination for this? (for the record i checked for any electric activity and couldnt find any)

We did some work in the "green room" which many people didnt like as soon as they entered. Which was very nice to hear. The EMF was a bit sketchy in the famous corner but never reacted again after. I went off to read books. Then I set up my audio recording gear on the top floor of the tower. I made sure to lock all the doors (Gavin was with me as I walked down). I made sure no one went up during the 40 min recording. About 30 mins in I got this sound. One of the girls tooks some photos but one in particualr jumped out at me. Here is my back in a room taken on the top floor of the tower.

and following on from this is a little diagram I did to show the location of the EVP and the rest of the people in the Castle.

monkey has already spoke about the glass tipping , i agree that it dosnt seem to like males

Make of it what you may and I will be more than happy to answer any questions you have..........[points] yes you? [/points]

Lots of love. Forever and ever.

Hey... what's going on in the far right hand side of the party?

Interesting sound though... There was no drafts around to cause that banging either.

Its how the night happened in my mind. ... What?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,216 ✭✭✭✭monkeyfudge

Pfft... you left well before anything like that happened.

Lets just say a lot more people are aware of what an Alabama Hot Pocket is after that night.

I'll go through my video footage in the morning... I might have time later on to go through the photos.

great post grimes , you put a lot of effort into the drawing !!!!

Anyway are you going to name the video, it's important as you can then have a part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 etc if its popular. I know of one similar type of series of this type of film to be at # 56 at the moment, albeit #22 to 46# was their "Golden" run.

Here's the photo of the orb on the girls foot:

And here an orb goes where many have gone before:

Grimes, can you stick up the first few minutes of your recording? If we can hear what sort of noise is made by you leaving the tower it will give us a better idea of how far away that sound actually is.

I don't know if the owners told you or not but and emf spikes on the first floor between the two main doors through into the main room with the fireplace and down to the kitchen is electrical wires under the floorboards. We had strange spikes at abnormal intervals because of these wires.

Hi PRAOI? Yeah other than the kitchen we didnt have any spikes in that area on the ground floor. Some spikes on the first floor aswell were interesting.

Monkey, my crotch is a pure as an untouched field blanketed with snow on a crisp winters morning and twice as beautiful. Ill upload more of that file tonight but it starts off with us bitching about stoner :p

    That can be bleeped out.

I used the triscanner a couple of times and it was picking up on a lot of voltage and metal in the walls... so that could account for a lot of the EMF readings.

That's a fair point ghosthunter, we have ruled out many changes in the field strenght before but sometimes we have been cought out.

We also noted that there is electrical storage heating in the castle, this will switch on towards midnight and a decent amount of current is drawn by the heaters, producing currents in cables that is not there in any shape or form earlier on in the night.

I was not there this time, but some of my equipment was, and my EMF meter ignores AC fields in or around the type generated by household electrics, so I guess it all depends on Grimes using a combination of meters,

did you Grimes, did you do it right ? well? we are all waiting,

and if you did , it must have been a ghost right!

Well i started off not knowing what I was doing so I wouldnt know. With the gauss meter how far from the source of the current does it have to be before reaching max screaching noise thing.

That's the technical term by the way folks.

There has been a bit of work done on the heating systems in the castle since the last time we were there.

There's now a big radiator in the Green Room that I don't think was there before, and a lot of the furniture has been rearranged to accommodate it.

Well I'd say you'd need to be about so far from the yoke that's creating the noise before the thing starts screaching.

BTW which thing were you using to measure the yoke, the black one, the grey one or the blue one? or maybe the yellow stud finder as that seems to work very well for cables in walls.

He was using the Gauss meter.

I used the stud finder a few times... but it wasn't much use as it kept going off in my hand as I'm such a stud.

(Has that joke been done before?)

Anyway... it showed there was a lot running along inside the walls all along that corridor on the ground floor.

    .

To the best of my knowledge Monkeyfudge that is original, like my open mouthed birth experience
