Aligning a dish?

Hey, moved into a new house for summer last week, the old occupants had left an old sky box & dish behind... There's no card for it or anything, but it seems to work grand for picking up the BBC's and ITV's...

Thing is some of the other channels on the EPG that afaik are FTA don't always show up... When they do show up they're very pixelated, kinda hard to watch... And if they don't work then we get a "No Satellite Signal Being Received" error message...

I think that it might be that the sky dish isn't 100% correctly aligned... Could this be the problem? Is it easy to fix? And how would you know which direction to point it???

How would i figure it out? The box itself is quite new looking (one of these) so i reckon it's not that...

What's the signal quality like on the digibox? Not sure how you get the info but I'd say it's in some options or config menu.

dunno, just figured that cos its a fairly new box that it should be ok... maybe i'm wrong...

    anyway, signal details are:

    Signal Strength: 75% (ish)
    Signal Quality: 10% (ish)

Looking at the dish there's a bit of a hedge thing more or less right in front of the dish, i think that could be causing the problem...

If there's a hedge right in front of the dish, then it'll definitely cause a problem.

Yep as Byte says definitely check out the hedge first
