Anybody think the religion exam is a bit of a joke? You can make up half the stuff about morality and that and our teacher barely taught us anything!:p

I was only told at the start of third year that my [non-denominational] school wasn't ar53d doing religion anymore. I can't believe we wasted so much time in 1st and 2nd year on it! But it was an extra A in second year so meh :D even if it was basically 4th class reading comprehension

Yeah JC Religion is easy, but so much more writing than I expected! I was really pushed for time in my exam cos I tend to ramble on (in CSPE I wrote a page and a half for 6 marks). I've heard LC religion is very interesting though (it;d damn well better be cos I'm doing it)

Right, smack whoever told you that in the face because that's a big lie.

A lot of learning is involved about different religions (mainly the ones originating from the middle east and mainly christianity out of that) and then you learn about rituals (which was really quite a pointless and unstructured section in my textbook tbh), you learn about 'questioning faith' (but it really doesn't say a lot about the questioning) and some other things that I don't remember. Of course, you could pick a lot of marks just by common-sense, saying what the examiner would like you to say and kind of bull****ting, but you do need to learn things off for it too.

I got an A in the exam despite only getting 41% in the mocks. I didn't even do the project, I just pretended to do it and wrote down stuff that I knew would get me marks!

It's really, to an extent, about as much of a joke as CSPE; in theory it sounds like a good idea (teaching people about society/other faiths/tolerance etc.), there's a lot of learning by rote of different things and it could be interesting but the delivery (and even curriculm) is really poor and somewhat biased to opinion.

I'd disagree with it being "as much of a joke" as CSPE. It just needs to be toughened up more. In terms of a subject for the Leaving, Religion isn't easy, and it requires a lot of study of philosophies etc, but yes the JC is quite easy. But a worthwhile subject all the same, I learned a lot about Judaism that year.

    I'd agree it's a bit of a joke.

I did the JC last year, didn't study at all for religion, thought the exam was pretty hard and made no sense tbh, so I bull****ted through the whole thing and came out with an A. ;)
