Who's going to win the All-Irelands

Getting away from Political Threads now that all teams have played at least one game who do you think will win the All-Irelands I have a sneaking suspicion that Galway will do well, the Meehans seem to be very focused after the recent death of their sister Ann(RIP) and this could have a galvanising effect on the whole team. Also Cork might be an outside bet. Latest odds:
    Kerry 2 - 1 Meath 22 - 1 Down 200 - 1
    Tyrone 5 - 1 Derry 28 - 1 Kildare 200 - 1
    Dublin 13 - 2 Monaghan 80 - 1 Sligo 250 - 1
    Donegal 7 - 1 Offaly 125 - 1 Westmeath 300 - 1
    Galway 8 - 1 Roscommon 125 - 1 Cavan 300 - 1
    Cork 9 - 1 Wexford 150 - 1 Fermanagh 300 - 1
    Armagh 16 - 1 Louth 150 - 1 Limerick 300 - 1
    Mayo 16 - 1 Longford 200 - 1 Leitrim 500 - 1

In the hurling although I would love to see Waterford win it, it's hard to see beyond Kilkenny. Latest odds
    Kilkenny 6 - 5 Tipperary 10 - 1 Offaly 200 - 1
    Waterford 4 - 1 Limerick 20 - 1 Dublin 200 - 1
    Cork 9 - 2 Clare 33 - 1 Laois 1000 - 1
    Galway 5 - 1 Wexford 40 - 1 Antrim 1000 - 1

Elswhere Roscommon @ 5/6 are nailed on to win the Nicky Rackard Cup.

Hey the Wexford football team haven't played a game :p In reality it is to early to make any real predictions, I wouldn't do that until the quarter finals or so.

In football with the exception of Galway nobody has really put in a good performance. Kerry will always be good and the Munster final should give a good indication of where both themselves and Cork are. Tyrone have had loads of injuries again, but if they get both O'Neill and Mulligan fit will be dangerous. Donegal are building up nicely. Armagh will be dangerous through out the qualifiers and if they get Clarke back fit should make the quarter finals. Dublin don't seem to have learnt any lessons from previous years. Mayo, based on one game, look like the need an overhaul.

In the hurling again it won't be clear until the quarter finals. It looks like it could come down to Waterford and Kilkenny, it would be good to see Waterford win. Limerick could be a suprise team, if they get a bit of composure into their play they have some very talented players. I am interested in seeing Galway against a big team, and also how Dublin and Offaly do in the qualifiers, for the sake of Leinster hurling

I'm sorry to say I think Kerry will win it again this year. Like what patmac said, I think Galway will be surprise achievers in the football, and hopefully in the hurling also. But Cork are my bet for the hurling this year. The status quo remains.

Kerry will not win this year. I don't know who will win but I will bet heavily against them not winning.
Players retiring, manager leaving, 3 Finals in a row already, just about turned it a round last year with the monster they unearthed in Donaghy.

I disagree with this. I just dont think there is anyone to really challenge Kerry. Armagh are getting on, and I dont think they will be there this year and Tyrone have too many injuries. After that I would think Donegal, Dublin and Mayo are probably the closest challengers, andI think Kerry are too strong for them.

Well Dublin are obviously going to win it now that they have banished there demons with an emphatic win over Meath (oh sorry im a bit ahead of myself)...

I would like to see a winner outside of Kerry/Tyrone. I hope Kerry find it hard to motivate themselves as if they have a hunger I think they have too much for opponents..

The footballers of Galway will, more than likely, win the Connacht title but after that I dont see them doing that much. They had a bit of a score to settle with Mayo as they had lost to them in the previous 2 matches by a point, which I am sure annoyed the Galway lads. But as regards them being "dark horses" for the championship, I cannot see it. If they make the All-Ireland semi-finals' they will be doing very well.

Kerry to win Sam again as I felt at the beginning of the year that Tyrone would be the team to beat. However with all their injuries etc. they are severly weakened. When this happens to them, they usually dont go many places (i.e. 2004 and 2006)

In the hurling, KK will still be the team to beat. They seemed to have developed a new tactic of flicking the ball down to an incoming player, which gives them an overlap - this was seen to great effect in the match against Offaly.

Waterford will win Munster IMO and should set it up as a Waterford - KK All-Ireland final. I think that the distractions in Cork, added to the fact that many of their players have been on the go for a number of long years does not bode well for their prospects this year. As for the other teams in Munster, well they are all of an average standard which might trouble the big guns on a given day, but they wont make huge impressions in the title race.

A lot of people think that because Ger Loughnane is over Galway, that we will immmeaditly win the All-Ireland. This is just bullsh1t as many of the same players who have repeatedly failed over the last number of years are still there. They will make the quarters, maybe the semi-final but wont reach an All-Ireland final.

KK to win Liam McCarthy after a fair struggle with Waterford.

armagh at 16-1 are a good bet. I think they'll do well. Galway at 8-1 good also.

Hate to be obvious but i cant see past Kerry in football and Kilkenny in Hurling this year, but hopefully at least one of them will be a surprise outcome.

I'm expecting a Kerry-Mayo final again this year.Have to watch out for Waterford and Tipperary in the hurling.I have funny feeling KK will meet their match in the semi finals.

have layed kerry to retain the all-ireland. cant see them winning.
    galway-no chance(westmeath last yr!)
    mayo-ffs (kerry last yr)
dublin-hard to know. need a big win tomorrow to get impetus back.
    donegal-have chance
armagh-can never discount them. think theyll make semis
tyrone-injuries are a problem but have huge panel. semis as well
cork-could be dark horses at massive price.

to sum up-the west have no chance
only dublin in leinster to make shake-up
winners from munster or (hate saying it) ulster

Ah, if Dublin win the Leinsters this year, then next year is our time. Last time we won 3 Leinsters in a row was '92,'93,'94 and then followed up with a Leinster and Sam double. Possibly '05,'06,'07 and an '08 double? These kinda stats mean nothing i know (before anyone takes this seriously and points it out) but fingers crossed. Altho, would prefer to just win Sam this year of course :D

I would never write Kerry off.To me its a bit strange that while up in Donegal, they are extremely confident on getting to the AI Final while down in Kerry, there has not been much said about the AI at all.Seems to me that the quieter of the two favourites are the ones to watch.I think a lot of people write Kerry off for the fact that they don't want them to win it and when it looks like Kerry aren't doing well theres a certain percentage of people who will speculate and look to other teams.

Kerry only have one competitive match before the knockout stages. This match is always against Cork and they don't have to win it as we saw last year.

Donegal, having beaten all the top teams so far this year in the League and Armagh in the championship, look unstoppable whether they beat the opposition by skill or by luck.Kerry don't win with luck as much as I hate to say it.They win with skill or else the AI finalist opposition simply only turn up physically.

Armagh side is aged a lot.Armagh football will go down a bit when McConville and Bellew leave the inter-county squad.Tyrone will do well in the qualifiers I'd imagine.Simply too many injuries at this stage to place much confidence in them.

Mayo, same as Kerry, quick to be written off when people don't understand the structure allows for Mayo to blaze through the qualifiers and into the final like Tyrone and Kerry in the last 2 years.

Galway,a team that I can't quite put my finger on or place as strong favourites or contenders. The quarter finals will be the end of their road in my opinion...Cork in 05 and Westmeath last year.

Cork...semi-finalists if they don't bump into Dublin,Donegal or Mayo along the way.
Dublin...I'll have to wait and see tomorrow.I think if we win tomorrow we will go on to claim Leinster for the third time in a row. After that,I think we might meet the other old foe in Tyrone where you'd have to bet on Tyrone due to recent records in the last four years. If we get Cork or Galway,I think we'd make the semi-final.We missed the boat big time last year.

    My verdict is Kerry.

id like to see waterford win the hurling this year. the football is wide open.

tyrone and cork are the 2 biggest threats to my own county, kerry

I'll be original and say Kilkenny for the Hurling and Kerry for the football.

Kilkenny for the hurling, football is still wide open.

BTW the Meehan's sister was Mairead not Ann!
