first year accommodation

    hey..i will b starting first year in galway this september..jst wondering which are the best student recedencies.

    i know there are like a million threads on this subject, but dey are not quiet based on first yr preferences..i personally dont mind dat much if da place is a tip..really wanna meet people and parties, noise etc r a bonus :D:D

    corrib village is probably the most well known of the first year residences. Personally i would rent a house over a residence anyday (cheaper and nowhere near as many stupid rules)

    There are plenty of cheap houses in places like Tudor lawn (where i once lived) and the surrounding area.

    I just spent a year in Corrib village and my advice to you is do not live there. They're a bunch of thieving bastards, who'll catch you out over the smallest thing to take money from you. If you like hanging up posters, lighting candles, having people over or having fun times in general, I'd say don't stay in corrib.

    Sure, go there to attend your friends crazy parties, but they'll be the ones with the 500 eur fine in the morning, not you.

    Visit corrib, but don't, for the love of all that is good and pure, even think about living there yourself.
