    Was thinking of taking up yoga.

    Dont know anything about it or never tred it, Will it get me fit?

    What age group usually do yoga?

    Its unlikely that you will get much cardiovascular improvement. There are some types of yoga that are quite strenuous and one type thats done in a heated environment which would lead to some increase in fitness.

    I would highly recommend it from my own experience. I have been playing\training in physical contact sports for quite a while now and have picked up a few niggling injuries along the way that resurface every now and again.

    Last year I started going to a lunch time yoga class for about 8 months, some of the benefits were improved balance, increased flexibility and one of the longest periods of time injury free I've had in a while. Also in work after lunch and at training that night better focus and concentration.

    To sum up I found it good for the body and mind.

    But this would also depend in the type of yoga you choose and the instructor.
