Antonius at 33/1 is better value. Is that list based on players known to have qualified in a supersatellite & presumed players? It's just that some names like Bill Chen & Gabe Kaplan are laughable.

    Id imagine its presumed players

John Hennigan at 80-1 is pretty good too.
Anyone know what the expected numbers are like?

That's excellent value on Greenstein alright, he'd a superb all rounder.

You really outta be looking at the players from the big mixed game $4000-$8000 in this contest. Ie Greenstein, Harman, Ivey not sure who else.

This isnt any old hold'em tourney. Its a much better betting market for the horse

There is no such thing as excellent odds for these type of bets. The odds are awful

I thought Andy Bloch was very unlucky last year to only come runner up, but at 25/1 I might stay away from him. Think I'll throw a Euro on Gabe Kaplan for the craic.

I think their odds remain the same even if this thread is placed correctly in the tournament/events forum.

    Any interest in Negreanu no??

His holdem game is on as good form as anyone else over the last 6 months and apparently he is a very capable mixed games player,

    Anyone have any odds??

stuck prices up for the $10k Omaha as well. There'll be some more Main Event markets up later too.

backing these kind of events with conventional bookmakers is laughable, it just doesnt make sense. most of the odds are at least double with betfair, ie andy bloch 100/1 instead of 25s,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,088 ✭✭✭rag2gar

Jesus lads every time a thread like this comes up ppl start bringing up bookies over-rounds. Id love to see how many of you would have your entire worth on heads or tails at 5/4

Its not like im trying to make a living off my fiver bet on Ivey, its only a flutter

Well i think its laughable that betfair have Harman at 65/1 instead of 80s. Not as quick to point that one out...

I don't even see the fun in these bets, sweepstakes are much more fun.

i apologise for not having compared every price and given a full report, i was merely saying that flutter/income or whatever it is its still stupid to back with bookmakers rather than exchanges for large field events such as this or golf when the vast majority of prices are grossly distorted

I'll say it again - even in this format of a tournament, trying to pick a winner is negative EV.

Yeah QFT. I assume when peopele say Ivey, Harman etc. is good value, the mean it's the least worst bet to lose. It is one of the most skill testing tournaments in the world, but it's still a tournament.
My final table predicitions: Chip Reese, Minh Ly, Daniel Negreanu, Barry Greenstein, Phil Ivey, Chau Giang, David Oppenheim, David Singer. I think John D'Agostino is another one to watch out for, very accomplished player.

Patrik Antonius, if he plays, would be my bet for a FT appearance.
