Friends got me my first airsoft gun, its very fun.

Was just wondering, what are the skirmishes that go on like?

    Can anyone go?

What sort f gear and what amount of ammo do you need?

    Any advice appreciated.

was just wondering, what are the skirmishes that go on like?

They're fun! There's a number of different games played, most of which involve 2 opposing teams shooting each other.

    Can anyone go?

Yep! Last time I was there there was 2 or 3 young ones there, and they didn't do too badly :)

What sort f gear and what amount of ammo do you need?

A gun, ammunition, a place to hold your spare ammunition (and clips)... That's the basics really, for CQB. Once you go outdoors you start needing stuff like camouflage gear, boots, etc.
Not sure how much ammo is used on average per person, but you can buy bags of BBs for about a 10er in HRTA. I use most of my ammo in the shooting range, lol. What a waste.

    Any more questions?

    I think it's 1000 bb's for €5 and 5000 bb's for €18 in HRTA. I don't believe Paul sells them in €10 bags.

Oh, and there is an age limit in most sites. 12 in Predator and 14 in HRTA. Not sure about other sites.

And skirmishes are a ton of fun. Well worth the walk-on fee.

the absolute minimum you need for a skirmish is yourself and some clothing on your back (although im sure if you wanted to run around naked people would have a laugh shooting at you)

since you have your own aeg, it works out cheaper to play as you dont need to rent one, for clothing i'd recommend a pair of combats if you have them (or loose fitting jeans), jeans generally are too tight and tracksuits just arent strong enough. a t-shirt will do in this weather, maybe a light jumper if you want, i generally play in a t-shirt and it doesnt hurt that much if i get hit on exposed skin.
a decent pair of runners/boots that you can run around in too are also a good idea and don't come dressed in your sunday best, if you're gonna be running around outside, you'll get mucky/dusty at some point.

after that it's whatever you want, i started off at my first skirmish with an mp5 and that was it, youll build a collection of stuff as you get into it

There are a few new people now who haven't played. Why don't we sort out a big turn up at HRTA some weekend soon and give em a baptism of bbs? :)

Hoping to turn up Sunday but may only use the firing range. Have a bit of a chest infection at the moment.

What did you expect from this group of disorganised ruffians?

Well, s'cuse me for saying, but I did get straight onto that as soon as it was mentioned (coz time-wise it's ideal, got totally free evening tonight). Just didn't hear anything by anyone after that.

Now, I'm up for dropping by tonight, anytime - no camping, but I'll have a beer (if allowed of course, else I'll have a coke) and it would be great if some of ye was there to put faces to nicks, and if at least the range could be used, as I haven't fired my M4 yet (lousy weather)

    I was just kidding. ;)

This lousy weather is set to continue for the rest of the day. Tis best to postpone the bbq until next week.

aye, im guessing with the weather there's not gonna be much of a turnout, plus if it's moved to next weekend then i can make it! :D
