It sounds strange but can any one recommend someone or some company that puts in a satellite system in the living part of a horse lorry/camper van.

Sorry :) Dont know the company name but I heard of an installer called Liam O' Brien from Limerick from way back. Antennas look like a nice solution.

your cheapest bet is the DIY way and one of the Aldi or Lidl camping sat kits which give surprisingly not bad results in Dublin at least and are 12 volts.
Check out the other threads on them. You could get a larger dish if this didnt give adequate reception on all your travels

Thanks wil but this customer of mine is just after spending over 100 grand on this bus,
No disrespect to Aldi or Lidl but their dishes are crap the amount of calls i get when these things are sold to install them. Its something like this he is after www.aertec.net/gpage3.html

That Camos 240 P sounds like some piece of kit, that certainly would meet the needs of someone on the move in say a holiday home or horse box.

Yes, you can get ones with GPS that are fully automatic (motorised elevation too). A manually pointed one could be tiresome. Maplin did have a truck mount flip up dish, but it's gone. I'd guess more trouble tha it was worth as it was manual alignment.

The one in the link does seem automatic, but at 40cm a tad small. Even 50cm is a lot more signal.
