I am going to buy this https://www.komplett.ie/k/ki.aspx?sku=318909 but I want to know do these external drives have some sort of power saving? i.e the drives shuts down after a period of inactivity, I have a different external drive but it always spins when powered up, so ever time I use it I have to remember to shut it…

Yep they do power down, mine powers down after roughly 15 mins, it powers up automatically when required.

I've never actually timed it so thats a rough time
