Really, does anyone give a flying f'*k about this and why are the media wasting so much time pontificating about whether it was taken or whether he put it in his pocket?

I know, it's distracting the media from regular Paris Hilton updates!!!

Must've been a slow day for news

I think it's a story, but only a "and finally" one.

By the looks of the US coverage at least, it seems as though some networks expected it to develop into an international crisis.

It's just a pity. What did we learn from Bush's trip there? Oh yeah, he got mobbed and his watch was lost/stolen. It shouldn't get billing over their Kosovo interests.

That's a pretty fair point. Not to justify it but things like this always happen too - thinking of Bush as an example, his Merkel massage and "If we can get Hezbollah to stop doing this shít" incidents both got more coverage than the topics which were up for debate at the same meetings.

That said, it's not the unimportant but headline grabbing incident that's the problem, the media probably wouldn't have paid the visit any heed had this novel little story not appeared - it's not like it was a case of one or the other, it was one or none.

    Very true unfortunately.
