Can somebody please save me from these gay gyms??? Im recently back from Oz after 3 years and ma looking for a decent gym in the Tallaght/ Walkinstown/ Clondalkin area. I went into Carlisle but the heaviest dumbells are 30kg!!!! :( And there is no seated row or bent over row. They do have a few squat racks in fairness.

I want a power rack, heavy dumbells and anything else is a bonus.....can somebody help me???? Gargage gym or whatever.....thanks.

Pinnacle off of Camden St. is a good option. DBs up to 60kg and olympic DBs you can make up to... can't remember but they'll take alot of weight. Also everything else you mentioned there. Only thing is it's not where you want, but it's easy enough to get to?

What about West Park in Tallaght? It's supposed to be ok but a little light on the weights too.

AH ok. Well then you've got either Pinnacle in town or Total Fitness in Sandyford.

Liffey Valley Fitness has all you need in the weights area, in fact there is an open day today so head up and look around. DB's go up to 50kg.

Atlas Gym in Clondalkin Village, it's above the China Inn. Any time I go by there is some serious lifters going in and out.

As far as I remember you can try Atlas on a weekly membership too which is quite good

I went up last night, its definitely a better gym for weights etc. My only problem is that they charge 15Euro a week, which works out at 780 a year for 52 weeks. I dont intend to train 52 weeks but it wont be far off it. I'm asking if I can pay a lump sum for the year and get a decent discount. I'm going up tonight for a session so we'll se what happens. Thanks for all your replies.
