Creative Zen (30gb) wont turn on

Im hoping somebody here can help me and that my problem isnt serious.

I have my 30 GB Creative Zen 6 months now and have never had a problem with it ... until this morning.

Yesterday morning on the way to work the battery powered out so as soon as I got home yesterday evening i charged it like I usually do using the USB connection.. Usually when I charge it the Zen will turn back on and shows the menu screen (Video, Music, Radio etc) along with the flash of lightning symbol on the battery. This time around however the screen was blank and only the flashing lightning symbol was showing.

Anyway I had to go out so I left the Zen charging and when I got home the battery was fully charged. I turned the computer off, unplugged the USB connection and left the Zen on the table where I got it this morning. On the way to work I went to turn it on but nothing happened. WHen I got to work i put a needle in the reset button but still it wont come on.

Im hoping that when I get home and I put the USB connection in again that will kickstart the Zen to come on.. Im just wondering if this has happened to anybody before??

    Thanks

    Gazzer

Try charging it with the charger it came with - not the USB.

get a proper charger if u dont have one already, the usb charger is crap, i had a similar problem and a normal plug charger solved the problem. The mp3 player uses a lot of power booting up. Anytime i used the usb charger, any charge it had, was used up when booting and so it would turn off after a few seconds.

mains charger is definately the answer. I had sameproblem but only when the unit completely discharged.... usb seems only good for top up charges..

When you plug in the USB make its the blue light flashing at the top, if it is its charging but it takes a while to get a reaction in the player, but leave it on for a while so it gets enough power to boot it self.

I've just bought a mains charger and its great, I was once on holidays and tryed charging it through a car charger no charge at all after 6 hours

Similar problem , when any power is going through i.e USB or ' Proper ' charger the creative logo is frozen on screen it will not progress any further. It also will not turn off without taking out the battery. Any one help or am I goosed ?

Right, I got a mains charger and the Zen is perfectly charged and playable now, but the computer still won't recognize the Zen, what do I do?

You can reset using the small reset hole on the Zen Vision M. Stick a blunt needle or pin in there. That solves a lot of crash problems. I've no idea how you got the battery out without voiding the warranty???

The Sony PSP power charger(home) has the same voltage(5V) so save yerself some money if you have this. Works beautiful.

I also have a creative zen vision m: 30GB which has stopped working. I contacted Creative about buy they say my warranty is expired. It was purchased 18 months ago....I thought electrical sold in Ireland had to have a 2 year warranty??

Anyone know of where I can pick up a replacement battery for one of these (apart from ebay)?

I think you are correct on that one... I'd push them for a repair...ask them why the warranty has expired too..
