    Thursday June 21 @ Wax

Steve Bug [Poker Flat - Berlin] *** Fuse Mix CD Tour
    Dan Power [Electric City]

    Admission e15 / e12 members

This Thursday sees Poker Flat Head Honcho and one of the nicest guests we ever had play for us Steve Bug make a rare small venue appearance at Electric City.

Steve made his Irish debut at Electric Shock 7 last November with one of our favouite sets from 2006. That night he ripped it up with tracks from Redshape, Audion and Petter to name a few.

This time around you will get the chance to hear him do more of the same up close and personal within the brownish walls of wax. Since he last played for us Steve has released the latest installment in the legendary Fuse mix CD series. After the highly acclaimed previous mixes by Davey 'Crockett' Clarke, DJ Hell [come on Stan's Army], Technasia and Joris Voorn [see you in October], Belgium's number one techno label Music Man and club Fuse teamed up for a new episode.

This time the honour went to Steve Bug, international resident at Fuse and one of the few true stars in the minimal scene. As the head of the much respected Poker Flat label, he is one of the founding fathers of this scene, together with people like Ricardo Villalobos and Richie Hawtin. Championed by many, not only because of his brilliant and original productions, but even more because of his highly memorable dj-sets, Steve was the right man to mix the new Fuse presents cd. As he did on his two previous Bugnology mixes for the Poker Flat label, he edited all tracks with Ableton live software for the ultimate continuous mix experience. Combining sought after classics from Johnny Dangerous and Rhythm is Rhythm with future anthems by Pier Bucci, Move D and Efdemin next to brand new Poker Flat gems from Steve Bug himself and long time buddy Guido Schneider, this mix really has it all.

Wax is a pretty small place so do yourself a favour and book a prepay ticket through Paypal (electricitypromotions@eircom.net) at the discounted price of e12 - include the name of all guests.

Support comes from EC Ressie deep deep Dan Power.

    Heya,

Steve Bug makes a welcome return to Dublin this Thursday for an intimate set at Electric City. The members list is filling up nicely [its mostly ladyeez too which is no surprise as this Lover Boy even gets Giles & Simon warmed up].

It's 12 euro for our members list and 15 euro on the night. You can prepay to ensure you have a ticket by Paypaling us to electricitypromotions@eircom.net. Doors open at 11 and Danielle Power will be getting the groove going until Steve takes over at 12.30 for what we hope will be a two and half hour set. Here's a selection of some choice cuts ready to bug out the dance floor:

    Steve Bug Chart:

    01 - black strobe - i'm a man (audion rmx) / unknown
02 - matthias heilbronn - do it right / poker flat
03 - hakan lidbo - my love only (version remix) / mantis rec
    04 - chinese drip - minz / perspectiv
05 - audio soul project - community (fish go deeper mix) / nrk
    06 - agnes - controversal (ripperton mix) / resopal
    07 - motorcitysoul - kazan / aus rec
    08 - holger zilske - enduro disco / leena
09 - simon baker - the fly (my my rmx) / connoisseur

    Attention: Modus / Aka Dave:

Hi, we got a CD from the above named person but no contact details on it. If you're out there - please get in touch.

Also, for those dropping in CDs - please make an effort with them and try to include a cover, tracklist, brief bio. We'll be much more inclined to give it a listen if it looks like you've put some effort into it. A coverless CD with black marker scrawled over it gives the impression you couldn't be bothered. The same goes for Megaupload links etc. Also, if you don't know where the club is located or you ask us what we're looking in terms of music style then EC is probably not the club for you. We get lots of mixes from people and not a lot to choose between many of them, in those cases it’s the folks who check out and support the club who get priority. So, make your CD stand out and why not hand it over yourself at the club for the personal touch.

Keep the mixes coming - we listen to them all (aside from the ones we lose - sorry Sam!)

    Cheers!

    It's an EC life.
