I've been buying the Sunday Times because it was the only one with a TV guide that listed the freeview channels (BBC I, II, III and IV and ITV 1, 2, 3, 4 and Film 4) but its starting to really annoy me.

Can anyone suggest an alternative weekly guide?

The Radio Times (available in the Republic if one looks hard enough) is pretty good but even up here it isint always possible to get a copy before theyre sold out since they seem to limit their print run to about 50 copies

Handy configurable online guides worth looking at:
    www.tvguide.co.uk
    www.tvtv.co.uk

Downloadable, and more customisable would be www.digiguide.com which I've seen recommended here a few times

Paper-wise, I just get the one that comes free with the Sunday Times, as you do now.

I get the Radio Times here. Just ask your newsagent to order and keep it for you. Thats what I did.

    www.tvbrowser.org

.. free java-based tool (runs on windows, Mac & Linux) that hooks into the Radio Times XML service and provides a nice UI for navigating the programme lists.

As mentioned, Digiguide is the best around... entirely customisable to the channels you want...

Here's a screenie of my line up...

Oh yeah, digiguide is the best for updates in telly shows & when the next ep. is on. As that is the free version i use, how much/or do you have to pay for that service?

I asked my brother (who had a copy) on the Daily Irish Mail on Sunday & he told me it has 6 pages for each day, inc. all BBC/ITV ch's Satellite-Ent/Sports/Radio

Hopefully that sorts out: you can used digiguide for the pc viewing & paperwise you can get one of the publications mentioned as i will as i was using the sun before i saw the extra ch's with the mail :)

Its £9.99 per year, which is the price of 10 weeks worth of the Radio Times, or an equivalent amount of Sunday papers.

There is a 30 day free trial.

Doesn't look too bad. Seems better than FreeGuide which I used to use. Functionality pretty poor compared to Digiguide though.

I might check out TVBrowser though...

    Thanks

Digiguide ftw. It's search functions puts it ahead of anything else.

I buy this every Sunday. Shows all BBCs and ITVs and Film Four. 3 Large well laid out pages per day of TV, listing all Sky's Movie Channels as well seperately.

Yes install the latest version, i think it has the radio times plugin built in, so you just pick United Kingdom as country when you run it first and it'll list all the channels and you select the ones you want to be displayed from then on. It has a search function aswell. Don't know what more anyone could need out of a tv guide program and the fact its free makes it even better.
