Trying to find a good Gym that's closeby here, other option being the one at UCD.

Any info would be greatly appreciated :)

You should try Markievicz Leisure Centre. Its near Dolier street. Its a council gym bit it has a decent selection of cardio machines, a small weight area and a 25M pool. Its never really packed but the weights section can be pretty busy at peak times. Its 6.60 a visit so well worth trying to see if it suits your needs. Nowhere else really in the city centre except for a few weights orientated gyms. Link below.

Crunch is behind where Virgin used to be - never been in it though.

Riverside fitness is on Marlborough st - I used to be a member there when I was working in town. It is small, but I really liked it. There is a good atmosphere and the instructors are all friendly and approchable.
It was cheap as far as I can remember. Worth a look - it is near the quays end of the street.

Is Riverside still open? I walk by that nearly every day but I just assumed it was closed from the look of the place, I'm open to correction though as i never tried to go in.

I dunno tbh! I haven't been there in about three years!
Now that you mention it, the last time I walked past it did look closed.
But it was later in the evening.... hmmmm

He could always try Profiles on O'Connell St ;)

Could give profiles a go. Apparently they are quite discriminating on who they let in:)

Riverside is still open. I was a member until I moved offices in December. Good gym. €50pm membership.

Noted David Loyde's being a short distance away [near UCD]. I've read it's got a good review - but what's your opinion of the place?

I'm in the Fitness Dock on Camden Street. Like it a lot. Plenty of machines, good selection of weights, helpful staff, loads of classes (boxing, spin etc). I'm told it gets very busy after 6 but if you go earlier than that there's hardly any waiting around for machines.

Whats the name of that one? I train there when up in Dublin. Used to be called New dimensions a few years back. Good spot, has a good weights selection and a punch bag area.

O'Connell Street=Portabello hmmm they arent too close together.
Raw is a good spot, then you have the fitness doc on camden street, the ymca on aungier street(sp?) then crunch in temple bar.
On north fredrick street there is a gym just in the basement beside waltons music store, its basic but it got everything you need for weight training alone.
