Sky and "other Channels" functionality

I tuned in the BBC HD preview on my SkyHD box and I've noticed that the "other channels" seem quite limited, eg no epg & can't record, is this correct and why wouldn't my purchased sky box allow me to record X channel? Thanks

yes, its correct. reason: sky dont want you to be able to record fta channels, otherwise a lot of people would have no reason to maintain their sky subscription

The "other channels" is only there at all to prevent BskyB running foul of EU.
