No Cable, waiting for Digital - what to do?!

There's so many Cable & Digital TV forums that i was unsure of where to post this.

I'm currently awaiting Chorus Digital in my region - their rep has told me it'll be about September due to living in a heavily populated area of Sligo. And can't install a Sky Dish on my apartment block.

Have not got even basic analogue cable in due to simply wanting to wait for the digital service, but it's a long summer with little to watch on RTE1 / RTE2 / TV3 (on a very poor signal) til then.

Would ordering a Freeview box like this and a freeview card tide me over til then? Not very knowledgeable on this sorta stuff so any help or advice would be appreciated.

The Freeview box you linked to won't do you any good at the moment, it's near impossible to receive the service in Sligo town.

I think in the meantime, unless you take up the analogue cable service, you're stuck with RTÉ1, RTÉ2, TV3 & TG4 for now.

    Bah.. shame!

    Cheers for the info lawhec.

Think the analogue service will have to do so!

The freeview system does not need a card except for separate Topup Tv. A dish would be easier than the mast & aerials needed to pickup NI Tv!

You could clamp a dish to balcony or windowsill?
