I was wondering, at what time should you cease caffiene intake. i dont drink after 9, but i have no basis for that time, for me it just looks like a good choice.
    Any ideas?

What ever works really, it depends on what time you put the head down at. It varies daily for me.

Depends on the type of coffee you're drinking I'd have thought.

Big difference in caffeine content between drinking a double
espresso and drinking a cup of instant-muck.

Caffeine will vary from farm to farm and plant variety to plant variety. As a general rule robusta has approximately twice as much caffeine as
    arabica.

Interestingly it states a bar of chocolate has as much caffeine as a cup

    of instant coffee.

I tend to stick to the no espresso after 9 rule if I'm up early the next day.

That table is wildly innaccurate. I think it is generally accepted that an oz of chocolate has about 6mg of caffeine. In general terms that means a bar of chocolate has about 1/5 the amount of caffeine of a cup of coffee.

As for me, I like an espresso after dinner, which could be 8ish. Have been known to drink later though. You can always "correct" the caffeine though.....

I personally don't tend to drink coffee after 3pm. It's only a rough rule of thumb, and the main reason is that by that stage I've probably drank the equivalent of 6-8 espressos anyway.

afaik caffeine has a half life of five hours so I'd stop drinking coffee at least five hours before bed time if I expected a good nights sleep.

I'd rarely drink coffee after 8 o'clock in the evening. Any later than that and I would be awake for hours
