I'd never fold this. You must have hit the fold button by accident!

    call here too

(I have my All-In button gone too on iPoker, cost me a BI in a misclick before I got rid of it)

I cant understand him shoving anything that has you beat, especially 90 into a pot of 16. I never fold this

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 347 ✭✭Brayruit

    I fold.

90 into a 16 pot is a totally illogical bet. If he was a halfway decent player he would know that such a bet would not stack up and that he was likely to be called (see all those calls above!)... so fold.

If he was not a good player, this would most likely be a bad overbet with a good hand - trips or 2 pairs - even aces.

It is also possible that he is on a good draw - but so be it, on balance I still fold.

I think i should fold, Prob wouldn't at the time.

Why such an over bet especially when there is two other players in the hand?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,793 ✭✭✭bops

folding is imo the smart play

most of the time he has you crushed - but i like the play - look at all the donkeys that would call here :)

BTW my reasoning behind this stems from:

been playing with him for a good hour or so, haven't seen him do this before, 38/13/1.14

i'd probably call here. if he's hit a set/98 he'd have to somehow know you had AA/KK to get a call, which it's seemingly impossible for him to know since there was only one preflop raise. a 90bb open shove is rare so it's pretty difficult to know what to do. it's kind of a donkament move...i've seen people do it with AK and draws but i did once call in this exact situation with QQ on a 842 and the guy had 444, i think he pushed for about x4 times the pot. still i'd say it's probably a winning call in general.

I'd probably call if only for the simple reason than Bops thinks you should fold :)

Seriously though, I folded a hand last week that I was definitely going to check raise against an idiot until she bet 3x the pot which she had never done before. It threw me and confused the hell out of me. I got her chips about 2 hands later though so it was ok. Folding is a bit nittish, but this could well be a deliberate ploy from him with a monster when he thinks you either have nothing and fold to a normal bet or a big hand that you call an overbet shove with.

I probably still call though but don't really like it.

This is strange, I would guess he has a misclick (he might have an AHK all in button or something) or a combo draw , hardly ever a set or 98. I'm sure I would call if I was put on the spot, I don't know if it's right though.

    I fold.

The ridiculous overbet is often a tactic used to get paid off by a hand like yours. Its often a set or top two. Unless he misclicked id really expect to be behind

he's too bad to using ahk!

lol even when i'm right im kinda wrong

nice use of logic there PL - keep it up!

    A) you decided the best thing to do was to fold
    B) you were beat and therefore correct to fold
    C) from now on you are going to call

    i love ye guys deeply

    If he's a bad player that's a clear fold I think.

lol! what I mean is I think it's rare for someone to turn up with a set here, and that it's usually gonna be a call.

I used to do this at .10/.20 (yes, I know it's not the same kettle of fish) i.e. open shove with set/top 2/flopped flush. But it worked surprisingly often.
