Local Supplier ?

    Lads,

The other day, Oisin wrote in a separate thread, about Keith from Rsov - "I'm going to try and give him as much of my business as I can", and I get the impression a lot of you also feel that way.

I know from my own experience his service is second to none, and he's very honest about the quality of his merchandise.

So I have a hypothetical question...if Keith had an official agent or business partner here in Dublin....would you buy from them ? If the prices were just a little higher, to take into account the cost of shipping stuff here, but still cheaper than buying from Rsov, paying the shipping, and risking duty, would you use them? You'd also have the benefit of not having to wait so long for your purchases, and knowing if anything went wrong, the problem could be sorted locally.

    What do you think ?

If he had a local supplier and the mark up wasn't huge then I can safely say I'd be doing a lot of buisness with them ;)

I would prefare to buy locally, apart from the fact that I am very impatiant when I buy stuff online, i think it would be worth the extra bit of cash to buy localy and save a whole load of hassle if anything went wrong or broke or watever.

so definatly YES an Irish dealership sounds good in my opinion

Everyone who buys airsoft in Ireland would be interested. It all comes down to the cost. Keith seems to be able to get anything. So if this goes ahead, and there isn't a huge mark up, I can imagine a lot of people will be very happy.

one other thought shiva...consumables. gas, parts, the bits and bobs. i dont think they will cost you a lot on space but they are the items we all cant wait for. gas is another. i have the propane thing but sweet baby jesus it stinks and it doesnt work for everything, check out fiachs gas nade issue as an example. most of the uk sites are charging a friggen fortune for that to the point that it is insane. if u do a fair price on that bro...i will buy it off you.

Thanks lads, thats pretty much what I was thinking your reaction would be.

I'm not going to go into any real detail here, for two reasons -

    a) Nothing is decided or set in stone yet, and there are a lot of variables to consider and possible issues to resolve before anything happens.

    b) I'm very conscious that this thread is sailing close to the edge with regard to the Boards.ie rules for advertising. I only posted the original question after asking Oisin if it was ok to do so, and he kindly allowed me to go ahead - cheers for that Oisin.

Thats all I'm going to say about it for now...if and when something happens, it will be in the next 3 to 4 weeks, and I'll put some kind of link in my signature.

I wont be discussing this any further on Boards, for reason (b) above.

Oisin...feel free to lock this thread if you feel you should, and thanks again.

No worries. I wouldn't have considered that advertising in the slightest. However, just to err on the side of caution I'll lock it now that it seems to have fulfilled its purpose.

Good luck anyway! I'm sure the rest of this lot are with me too on that one.
