Went with Sunway about 6 years ago.
Verbally abused at times by men because we were women ie did not see them treating men this way.
Cultural holiday which i enjoyed. Met several people who did not enjoy their holiday.
Hotel/apartments very basic so if i had to do it again i would spend more for a 4/5 star hotel.
Took an all day bus trip to Marreketch: which was a fantastic experience of Moroccan culture. Would stay in Marrektch longer if i was doing it again.
Souk in Agadir was another cultural experience also.
Not a lot to do in Agadir but it was cheap and great sun for lounging, sunning and basically doing nothing. Some of the activities felt manufactured to get/make money off tourists.

Went there 2 years ago but cant remember with who.

Agadir is a touristy area and developed that way sine the earthquake in the 1960's or so.
We did daytrips to Marreketch which was great but takes a full day.
We also visited the Atlas mountains which I liked alot. There was plenty of trips to do from Agadir but as we were only there for a week it suited us to the ground.
We had a lovely hotel and swimming pool but again for the life of me cannot think of the name of it.
The local market (Souk) was an eye opener as was the huge one in Marrekesh.

i just got back from agadir at weekend went with sunway and stayed in residence intouriste. my advice to you would be to go elsewhere. weather was crap for 4 of 6 days i was there, the "building" going on surrounding hotel was more reminisicent of a war zone then a construction site. there was very little to do in the evening time but my advice would be to stay somewhere near the promenade if you are going. food was quite cheap and good, a few places i would recommend are little italy and via venetto on avenue hassan quite cheap for good food steak 11 euro. if you are planning on going on excursions do not go with sunway they charge 3 or 4 times the amount local operators do the one i went with is beside the english bar on 20 august street. if you plan on going to marakesh go independently on the supratours bus from station will cost you 22 euro return air con bus. im sure the lack of sunshine had an impact on my perception of agadir but i can reflect now and say i can think of several other cheap destinations which are better than agadir...

went there a very long time ago. we had a great time, steer clear of jockey's "irish" bar. there was a mexican restaurant there near the promenade, and a vietnamese on the square that uniprix is/was.
touradant is nicer to visit than marrakech. we stayed in the shems apartments when we went there. the safe was closed when we had to pay for a trip and the desk manager gave us a loan for it.
@burnedfaceman was the guy outside in the kaftan still there saying pog mo thon

A strange sort of place, would not really recommend it unless it was a very good deal. As earlier posters have said, Marrkech is much more interesting, but it doesn't have a beach.

Agadir has a strange split between the coastal strip which is touristy and almost seems like a Club-Med resort - and with the rest of the town which seems poorer and more run down. Lots of people hassling you to buy stuff.

    Just bck from Agadir.
Stayed in Argana hotel and had a ball, brilliant hotel and staff very friendly.
Swimming pool was 25m standard and 1.6m deep so you could dive in.
So what, the town may not be New York, but you're away from the cold and rain in Dublin and get a life, ur on ur holliers.
Weather was brilliant and we went to Marrakech which was fascinating and visited an old Berber village and had a traditional meal with lots of free wine and tagines of fish and chicken and entertainment.
