Was just thinking, if there is any merit or interest in it, that maybe people from boards could pick or draw an opponent and play regular heads up games against each other. They could post hands, keep track of wins/losses and post results, hands, strategy, etc on a new sticky thread for heads up only.

Boards obviously covers full ring, 6 handed, strategy, etc. but i think this could develop players thinking and improve there performance especially with regards to heads up. High stakes aren't necessary of course, everyone within their own limits.

Think it might add an extra dimension to the forum?

    Anyone agree?

How about we set up a boards headsup league then. We could have maybe 3 divisions of 16 players where everyone plays each other once and then have some sort of promotion and relegation thing.

Might be hard to put a time on when games have to be played by, but players could just play each other whenever they feel like it. So some players could play 10 games in a week where others might only play 1. Maybe the league could last 10-12 weeks.

Everyone could put 50 quid or so in and top 2 get paid when the league is finished. It would be interesting to see if Cooker3 was just lucky to beat me or if he can sustain his legend killier status :p

Interesting idea, most low limit heads up tables on various sites have only one table so its pretty adverse to meeting the player you want to play time wise as the site has good liquidity.

maybe shortstack could set up a few heads up tables on GJP with a password or something along those lines for forum posters.

its not hard at all if you are on the same skin, the heads up skin games fill up very very slowly

anyone around for HU on FTP or stars?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 880 ✭✭✭eggie

I honestly think that is a great idea to develop players ability to play the player rather than the table or the cards, especially when deep in tournaments and final tables especially. It makes a huge difference to a persons game when u can limp push with rags against a known stealer and he finds a fold. ie. playing the player

Edit: table dynamics obviously being a factor

Go for it. I fwe dont make an effort to kick start this we cant expect others to follow blind.

Major Ev- playing you in any form of heads up, I could be on for it just for the sake of a tough game though, full-tilt suits me best for it.

Anyone up for a few HU matchs tonight, $20 or less is good for me, can play on most sites.

In response to the game we had. Few things i noticed.
    - you'd call 3 bets (flop, turn, river) with any pair even bottom pair,
    - you'd only 3 bet if you had a monster even with small blinds
    - you were very passive
    - you seemed to want to gamble alot

Now this might not be up at all, but they were a few things from our game

What do people think are good HU strategy?

Keep pots small or inflate them etc etc?
