Hot weather & aggression

    Great to have this hot spell, but i wonder do any of you notice there seems to be an increase in rough/aggressive behaviour amongst some people during this type of weather.

    Cause you can see it in town, with young lads coming out in there thousands drinking booze and generally being loud & intimidating.

    And yesterday i was at the 40 foot in sandycove, there was a gang of teenagers drinking and playing music at full blast!!...then some bloke approaches them and tells them to turn it down, for his troubles he get a head into the face and the rest of the gang start cheering and laughing.

    And coming back on the DART a bunch of yobbos started a fight amongst themselves, much to the terror of the on looking tourists.

    It just seems to me that when the weather is hot, the amount of aggro increases too :cool:

    No, the problem is idiots not being able to handle their drink. Not the good weather.

    I would have to say the constant sunshine beating down on me, especially when I'm stuck in my oven car, annoys the ship out of me sometimes. I pray for a bit of respite of cloud cover. Too much of one thing is not good.

    The weather means the scummers are spending more time outside so we see thier behaviour more and it impacts on the innocent. Car horns do sound more though, no fun being stuck in a hot-box in town traffic.

    ++

    Good weather leads to more spontaneous, early drinking which leads to more long sessions.

    People probably drink faster in hot weather too..

    I switch off Guinness a lot in the hot weather and drink lager which I find affects me quicker cos I'm not used to it. I assume a lot of people may choose drinks like cider or lager in the summer too.

    Crickets are sensitive to changes in air temperature, and chirp at faster rates as the temperature rises. It is possible to use the chirps of the male snowy tree cricket, common throughout the United States, to gauge temperature.

    The formula for this is to count the number of chirps in 15 seconds and add 39 to calculate the temperature (degrees Farenheit.) If there are 30 chirps in 15 seconds, the temperature should be about 69 degrees F. This formula is said to be accurate within one degree. A variation is to count the chirps in 13 seconds, and add 40.
    Before cars has AC you could probably tell the temperature by the rate of car horns during rush hour.

    Personally, I think people are far friendlier when the weather's hot. Definitely puts me in a great mood. Find people serving in shops are even nicer. Hope it continues!

    Booze = uninhibited

    Sun + booze = dehydration = crankiness

    In fairness, most of this happens regardless of weather (at least where I'm living)

    I agree.
    Yet another reason to stay indoors.
    I'll take the dark air-conditioned room over the hot sticky feeling of being under a giant magnifying glass surrounded by drunk knacks.

    As for the topic: I find hot weather more draining than anything else... I'm too exhausted to be aggressive.

    And then what happened?? :confused: Did he fight back and kick all their scoby asses? Did you intervene and f*ck their stereo into the sea :D
    Down with scumbags!

    I'm sweating at night, never mind the day time. IMO the heat is aggravating. Really ****ing aggravating.

    Yes ...

    ... and yes.

    However, I can imagine if someone is stuck in a traffic jam for ages without AC, road rage might kick in. And a minority of people do find the heat hard to handle, anyway, and get grumpy.

    For most people, though, i think the sun brings out their better nature. For myself, certainly, the dark and rain of winter is much more inclined to bring my inner Grinch to the surface.

    Damn those lower class people! Good weather should put everyone in a good mood, not a frickin' aggressive one!

    Well, I hate to admit, but hot weather makes me grumpy. Whats the summer version of grinchy? Scrunchy?
    Yeah, I'm a summer scrunchy...

    I enjoy the sun and so on, but the humidity at the moment is p*ssing me off at the moment....and yea the amount of scumbags out drinking on the streets and acting the pr*ck is getting ridiculous....

    This weather is making me grumpy because my bedroom window is at street level and the wider I leave the window open, the noisier it is in the morning. At half six today this guy stopped right outside my window to do a massive sneeze, it was one of those really ear-piercing 'WAAAAAACHHHOOOOOOO' ones. I very nearly stuck my arm out the window to smack him over the head, but I didn't, I just lay there with a big scowly head on me cause he'd messed up my last 1/2 an hour of sleep. It put me right out of step for the day :(
