Noticed Dell are offering 80 Euro off Desktops and Notebooks until June 14th.
Got an Inspiron 6400 with Intel Core 2 Duo T7400, 1GB RAM, GeForce Go 7300, DVD-RW, 120GB HDD for 649 (which includes 49 delivery and 112 vat). Is this a good deal? Wondering if anyone else got a similar price on the 6400 and if it is a decent notebook?

Pick your machine, add it to your cart and it's first option in Software & Peripherals

I see the T7400 isn't even an option on dell.ie for the 6400. The fastest cpu is the T7200, and it is an expensive upgrade :) There are loads of T7400 machines still available on the outlet site, price range 583.00 to 593.00 before the 80.00 discount. They are Windows XP machines, which I think is a positive!

The prices may be good on their lappies but their backstock of desktops is so inconsistently priced with regards to spec it makes a mockery of it. In many cases you'd still get much better value on a desktop by buying it new with a monitor from the main site...

Remember those prices are exVAT & delivery.

After I received my order confirmation I checked the Service Tag number on Dell's support site and found the original ship date was 22 April 2007 !!
Pity thet don't include the Tag info before you buy. Obviously some are new machines, overstock perhaps? No option for this spec is now available on their main site.

Just rechecked the Outlet again, the same laptop is now 445 euro after the discount, which comes to 597 euro with VAT and Delivery.

What I don't like about the dell outlet si they don't tell you about the €60 shipping charge until you are about to pay - what a rip-off. Two boxes with interlink anywhere in ireland would cost Dell about €10. (costs me €12!!!) - so €50 net profit on delivery charge. Not such a bargain then!!
