    BBC News
Sir Sean Connery has announced that he will not be playing Harrison Ford's father in the next Indiana Jones film.
"If anything could have pulled me out of retirement, it would have been an Indiana Jones film," the 76-year-old said in a statement on its website.

"But in the end, retirement is just too damned much fun," he continued.

Ray Winstone, Cate Blanchett and John Hurt will be appearing alongside Ford in Steven Spielberg's film, scheduled to open in May 2008.

Pity. I would have liked to have seen him back again.
didn't realise it was 1989 wihen The Last Crusade came out. Kinda makes me feel old :(

He's idiot. This means League of Extraordinary Gentlemen will stand as Connery's last film. Surely he could have done a brief cameo or something, he's not that old. An Indy film would have made a nice final film appearance.

Oh well, he'll be missed. I loved the interaction between him and Ford in TLC, it was the highlight of the film.

Actually, apparently it's going to be Sir Billi The Vet, a short cartoon, that he'll be remembered for :(

But then again, he has been in an awfull amount of shìte in his lifetime.

Damn shame. He was really good as Fords old man in Indy 3. He may still change his mind though. I hear that retirement gets boring after a while.
