    Hello,

Just wondering what the range should i be in BB/100 for an above average player at this level i.e someone that plays 20/12/1.8, is very positional aware, can lay down a hand against a decent player but still has some flaws like calling draws that i probably dont have the implied odds for but overall above average.

Would 4-6 BB/100 be about right or should it be higer, i know variance can take its toll over short periods so im on about over a decent size sample and would appreciate any guides current level players are getting and players that have moved through this level got or just anyone with any knowledge on whats a good range for this level.

    Cheers

So if my Calculations are Correct based on the min end of your estimate 8 BB/100:

    1 BB per 100 = 2 BB so 50c x 2= €1
    @ 8 BB per 100: 8 x €1 = €8 per 100 Hands Played

4 Tabling approx 70 Hands Per Hour at 6max = 280 Hands Per Hour
Averaging 3 hours Play per Night = 840 Hands
So thats 8 x €8=€64 per 3 Hour Session On Average

Thats €300+ for a 5 day 3 Hour Shift Week
And €400+ for a 7 Day Week 3 Hour Shift

Seems very nice for a bit of work/fun on the side and tax free

    Dvdfan,
I don't mean to be rude but based on your posts in this forum you would be doing very well to sustain 0 BB/100.

Do you mean Hand Histories ive posted lately or are you going by my contribution over the past few months, ive never played poker before September or so last year so im still learning and i other than dabbling in cash im only playing cash games seriously for about maybe 2 months or so as i used to play STT's.

Id like to think im a much better player than i was a couple of months ago but feel free to mention specific's about why you think not or specific posts. I do agree im not that great of player but i do think im currently an above average player, am i capable of 8+ BB/100 maybe not i dont have enough of a sample to say yes or no but personally i figured i could sustain maybe 4-6 BB/100 but my last post was just based on TACT's estimate and just posted that basically to say that i didnt imagine playing 25/50 which is basically micro level that you could make a nice few bob for so little work if you are an above average player. I dont take any offence to your post though as if im doing something wrong id rather be told bluntly than not be told at all.

btw as per my blog below im at around 3.5 BB/100 over an allbeit small sample of 6,000 hands at 0.10/0.20 which i know is nothing to be shouting about but im heading in the right direction i hope

I dont agree with that at all.
Dvd has moved from playing exclusivly sng's to cash and has really took a professional manner in doing it.
Any time i see him at the tables he seems to be holding it up pretty dam well.

I'm playing 20nl as well and am currently running at 8.5 BB/100 over slightly more than 9,000 hands, these stakes can be extremely volatile though. My stats are 23.7/18.2/3.7.

I used to be a tourney donk and played cash games every now and then, I was playing 10nl at 46.6/17.2 over about 11,000 hands, which is fairly disgusting tbh. Anyway, I posted some stats in a thread in micro stakes and futuredoc85 offered to help me out because he was a fan of some of my MSPaint work.

So I went through Pokey's thread on Poker Tracker and took screen shots of all my stats with a bit of commentary on each section and sent them to him and he really improved my game. I know it might take a little time but you should do the same here and posters could comment on your stats and try to plug any leaks you have.

I've done this about three times now, once before moving up, and each time my stats have gotten better and better. The hardest thing I found about moving from tournies to cash was value betting, because turn and river play is much rarer in tournies but it is by far the most important thing to learn at these stakes as this is where most of your profit should be coming from.

Yeah thats definetely something ill do when i have a bit more hands collected. I'd say i need at least 20,000 hands for this to be meaningful? I use Poker Office but you can do the same type of filters with that too.

8BB/100 is not average. it's crushing the game.

You can get meaningful data from 10,000 hands as well, just not as meaningful as 20,000 :) . I agree with Nicky as well btw.

Ok Red Joker, maybe ill post my stats later for some more abuse:D

So what do you consider to be a reasonable rate for a slightly above average player at that level??

As long as you learn something the abuse will be worth it.

I don't know tbh, for one thing a slightly above average player should be a losing or breakeven player since the majority of poker players lose money. I'd say about 4 BB/100 would be a good return but I'm happy as long as it's greater then 0.
