For any of you criminals out there driving around on foreign reg'd cars, firstly, you shold be ashamed of yourself, cant you see the state neeeeeeeds your money...pay your taxes!!! :D seriously though, Customs guys a patroling carparks in Dublin,Arklow,Leixlip and neighbouring areas to name but a few, confiscating cars and classic cars on foreign reg's. Expect them in a carpark near you and dont be surprised to see them turning up at shows. Last year the gardi patroled music festival carparks and lifted anything without tax etc. nice

customs are only interested in new/expensive cars where they will get the most money from. they dont take cars that are falling apart and worthless, whitch most foreign cars (other then NI/UK) are.

I'd guess that there are a lot of Classics that live in Ireland that are on foreign plates. All you have to do is go along to the shows and you'll see a good few.

I know of an early 90's white merc coupe that's been on UK plates since the owner got it 18 months ago.
    Strangely enough he's a Garda. :D

Two friends of mine have already had their cars lifted and one other has been given 7 days to register or have his taken.
